Chantal Sagnes

Growth Director

Underdog

Chantal embodies the spirit of indie: agile, unfiltered, and unapologetically forward-thinking. While she brings the pedigree of large agency and consultancy experience from leadership at Omnicom (GSD&M) and strategy and innovation shop Co:Collective, she thrives in the nimble, no-red-tape world of independent agencies. Her mindset is proactive and fearless.

She goes beyond any job description to challenge norms and do whatever it takes to push for agency growth. Chantal asks for forgiveness over permission, which is the very attitude she has used to reshape the positioning and brand refresh of 270B.

Chantal has redefined what leadership means in the indie agency world by rejecting the slow, hierarchical norms of traditional agencies. She rethinks the ways teams are structured, putting more horizontal work in place without 3 internals and 4 creative reviews before getting the work in front of clients. That’s just one example of an outdated playbook she has tossed in the bin, so that 270B can move forward with the daring work that can’t wait for rigid processes or drawn out timelines.

Her motto has always been, you don’t ask, you don’t get, which when put to use in a new business context, has helped reposition the agency and fuel its growth both organically and through new prospects.

Chantal’s independent spirit has been a catalyst for transformation at 270B. Unbound by convention, she’s leveraged the freedom of the indie model to move fast, think boldly, and act decisively. She brings both strategic clarity and fearless energy to every challenge.

Internally, she’s pushed the agency beyond traditional growth tactics, helping evolve its positioning and sharpen its voice in a crowded market. For clients, her boundary-pushing approach means work that’s not just creatively daring but strategically on point, built without compromise or delay. Chantal’s impact reaches beyond the agency walls: she’s showing the industry that independence isn’t just a business model, it’s a mindset that drives meaningful change.

She brings the mindset of a founder to everything she touches, whether she’s launching new offices, shaping agency models, or building client trust from the ground up. She has a bias toward action and her refusal to stay in a lane. She’s as comfortable jumping into a strategy sprint as she is leading a pitch or troubleshooting a creative brief at all hours.

Despite global experience and serious accolades, including being named a top 50 performer across Omnicom, she operates without ego, always in service of the work and the team. She’s the type who’ll skip the coffee break (literally, she’s never had a sip!) to roll up her sleeves and make something better, faster, or bolder. Her indie character isn’t a title, it’s a way of moving through the world: curious, committed, and unapologetically all-in.

For Chantal, the turning point came when she realized that solving brand problems shouldn’t come with a bloated minimum agency fee. After years in the holding company world, she grew frustrated with the constraints of rigid scopes, layered approvals, and a one-size-fits-all approach to solving unique challenges.

She made the deliberate decision to walk away, not out of rebellion, but out of conviction: that creativity and strategy should be accessible to brands of all sizes, and that the best work comes from flexibility, not formulas. That moment crystallized her indie mindset, one defined by agility, inclusivity, and the freedom to shape solutions based on what’s right for the brand, not what fits the system. It’s the mindset that drives her every day at 270B.

Chantal’s impact radiates far beyond 270B. As a proud member of THE BOARD, she’s helping reshape how brands access talent, advocating for project-based and fractional models that give companies of all sizes access to world-class expertise. She’s a vocal champion of indie thinking: nimble, collaborative, and unconstrained by outdated agency structures.

Beyond her strategic contributions, Chantal is deeply invested in the next generation, mentoring rising account and new business leaders both inside 270B and across the broader indie community. She leads with transparency and generosity, sharing not just what she’s learned, but how she’s learned it. Whether she’s coaching someone through their first pitch or helping reframe a client challenge, Chantal makes everyone around her sharper, bolder, and more confident in their own independent path.
