Misfit
On paper, this team may not make perfect sense. We're like the random adults who get seated at a wedding's overflow table. A weird cousin, a neighbor, and...how do you know the bride again?
An HR director who sings on stages around Nashville. A front desk guy by day and stand-up comedian by night. A communications leader who was a local child model (and still talks about it). A marketer who originally had dreams of becoming a nurse. And a Chief of Staff who worked in the Spirits industry for more than a decade before coming to the agency. Miraculously, these people are the glue that keeps the agency together.
However, it's our differences that make up our secret sauce. When combined, we form the front line of BUNTIN's operations. Often, we're the first faces you see, the first voices you hear, the first people you meet at the agency. We're welcoming you in, giving you a tour, doing your onboarding, and sending you away with almost too much BUNTIN swag to carry.
Our strength lies in our interests outside the walls of our office building. We know there's a bigger world out there. We're unique. We're dynamic. We think that makes us more interesting, and we know it makes you interesting, too. We want to know you and help you figure out where you fit here. How will you help build and shape our culture? What are you good at, and what do you want to learn?
Our empathy and genuine interest in the humans that come through BUNTIN's doors (and inboxes) each day make us a powerhouse team and make the agency unique. We're independent thinkers - that's why we're so good together.
What makes our team so successful is our flexibility, our empathy, and our autonomy. While process is important, our people matter more. At BUNTIN, we're empowered to address challenges creatively, whether it's helping a team member navigate a tough personal situation or finding the most meaningful way to celebrate a team for a job well done. Our team doesn't settle for cookie cutter; we customize because of how well we know our people.
Tanner doesn't simply sit at the front desk, opening the door for people and answering clients' calls. He's the first face people see when they come to our office, the first voice they hear when they reach out. He knows each team member's favorite candy and makes sure the office candy bowl is stocked accordingly. He handwrites anniversary cards for each team member celebrating a BUNTIN milestone. He greets each visitor with a personal hello, including their names. He makes people feel seen and welcome.
"Ammo" isn't our Chief of Staff sitting on high. She spends her days with our people. She has personally taken every staff member out to lunch in an effort to bridge the gap between executive and employee. She personally funded breakfast for the agency every Friday on her own dime (until we demanded she expense it because that's just unnecessary).
Liz isn't your typical HR Director. She greets with a friendly smile and an open door. She takes a creative approach to solving challenges, navigating sensitive issues and emotions with expertise. She's empathetic yet solution oriented. She has a way of making each team member feel heard while also balancing the needs of the agency. Her role is an important - and tricky - one, and she makes it look so easy.
Sophia is more than a marketing associate. She's an ear on the ground; the voice of the people. When she hears rumblings of discontent or sees an opportunity for us to improve a team member's day, she's quick to spring into action. She'll send flowers, alert the leadership team that someone needs a word of encouragement, or suggest a process improvement that makes our team's jobs easier.
And Jillian is focused on making everyone else look good. Ghost writing for leadership team members, seeking opportunities to make connections, putting the right spin on agency social, and representing BUNTIN on the Nashville AAF board. Her job is to play the role of the quarterback coach, ensuring all the right players have what they need to make the whole team win.
The biggest, most unique strength of our team is our empathy. Paired with our autonomy to make decisions for the benefit of the agency, we're an unstoppable force when it comes to building BUNTIN's culture.
In addition to that, we've got our own interests and talents outside of work that make us interesting and well-balanced people. Liz is an accomplished musician, performing on stages around Music City. Tanner is a stand-up comedian rubbing elbows with the likes of fellow Nashville native Nate Bargatze. Ammo started her career in accounting at BUNTIN, then left for a decade to open whiskey distilleries nationwide in the Spirits industry. Now, she's back as our Chief of Staff.
We embrace our unique strengths outside the office as much as we praise our accomplishments within BUNTIN's walls. We know it matters to bring our whole selves to work each day - that's what makes us better team members and leaders in the agency.
