Clever infused the rock-solid reputation of Starwest, a heritage herbs and spices brand, as a trusted source of premium products by crafting an inspiring and modern new brand identity that empowers consumers to engage with the brand, mind, body, and soul. 


Starwest came to us in need of a modern platform, visual identity, and expression, as well as a brand voice, to fuel connection and growth in DTC while retaining its legacy wholesale business. We found that modern consumers crave holistic solutions to support health and well-being from safe, reputable sources, but lack access and knowledge in the space to make confident buying decisions quickly.


To bring the Starwest Botanicals brand to life, we extended our work into packaging design, photo styling, and shoot direction—rolling out a cohesive visual system in 2023 that elevated their e-commerce presence. The refreshed identity helped drive continued momentum across DTC and Amazon, where top products now hold over 22,000 reviews with a 4.6-star rating. The system also set the stage for future innovation, supporting new product launches like their 2025 wellness collection.
