The NFL is expanding culture beyond traditional tackle football. With NFL Flag they are creating a community that is more open, more inclusive and more diverse. Flag opens the world of football to young men and women from all socioeconomic backgrounds to create a new game in their own image. From college scholarships to the inclusion of flag football in the LA 2028 Olympic Games, the growth of flag football has presented new pathway opportunities for these young athletes. As they lace up their cleats, smear on their eye black, and step onto the field, these players demonstrate with every stutter step and sideline pass just how powerful, dynamic, and fun Flag Football can be. This game is truly their game!
“Created by Flag” not only showcases the excitement of the sport itself, but also the increasing impact and relevance of Flag Football within our culture. Our goal was to drive younger fans to sign up for flag by inspiring and demonstrating the inclusivity, dynamism, and athleticism of this rapidly growing sport. We feature NFL athletes to continue legitimizing Flag Football as a sport while showcasing influencers to create a connection with our younger audience. Ultimately, we wanted the athletes' unwavering love for this new game and the impact they’re making in the rise of the sport to shine through, brought together with the mantra “This Game! Our Game!”
“Created by Flag” brings to life this growing cultural relevance with the athleticism and skill required to play Flag Football, while also demonstrating the sport’s accessibility to a wide range of athletes. By partnering with NFL stars, Justin Herbert and CeeDee Lamb, viral content creator @ishowspeed, and current Flag Football athletes, including Flag World Championship participants, Ava Wallace, Brooklyn Hill, and more, we highlight the excitement of the game and the opportunities it brings to young players.
The work was shot to be fun, engaging and relatable to young athletes how young they consume and share content.
Flag Football is a new and emerging sports with its upcoming Olympic debut in 2028. It is accessible for young athletes of all genders and by showcasing a diverse group of current players, our goal was to highlight the new opportunities available in the sport.
