Buffalo Wild Wings - "Beat The Buffalo"

Working closely with BWW’s creative AOR Anomaly, Loop developed the groundbreaking live gameshow “Beat The Buffalo.” 

It’s an innovative take on the familiar March Madness bracket competition, where contestants enter their NCAA picks against a fellow competitor, and see who is right. But we added two twists that took “Beat The Buffalo” to the next level.

First, we conducted the competition in a live broadcast on TikTok, hosted by a hilarious announcer who narrated the action and ramped up the tension. He did giveaways, gift cards, shouted out the contestants, and kept the broadcast moving.

And second, the contestants had to compete against a live buffalo.

That’s right. We trained a live buffalo to select NCAA basketball winners, and then challenged fans to beat his picks. Many did, some didn’t, and everyone had their minds blown.


Buffalo Wild Wings needed to make the most out of their 2024 March Madness sponsorship. It was a very big investment for the brand, and they knew it presented an opportunity to go beyond traditional commercial placements and standard sponsorship stuff.

March Madness is all about the brackets. It’s about fans having the conviction in their beliefs to pick winners, pit their picks against others’, and let the chips fall where they may.

How could Buffalo Wild Wings credibly tap into that fervor, and place the brand at the center of the bracket-busting frenzy in March of 2024?


The broadcast was the centerpice of Buffalo Wild Wing's March Madness digital program, and was covered by everything from trade publications to USA Today.

But perhaps most importantly, we broke new ground in the interspecies relationship between bovine and humankind.
