The "How I F*cked Up" Podcast Series

information

Copacino Fujikado

The idea of leading emotionally and empathetically has never been more important. Sometimes that means showing we're more than just C-suite people, ad agency leaders, or general windbag-types with an occasional insight or two to offer. In late 2023, CF decided to bring epic failure tales to the airwaves as part of the new CF Podcast Series called "How I F*cked Up." In these sessions, outside marketing leaders tell their career mistakes and lessons learned with candor and vulnerability. The simple and distinct purpose was, and is, to normalize f*ck-ups. Because they happen.

Thought leadership in the ad agency world is a crowded space. How could Copacino Fujikado stand out amongst the hundreds of agencies by delivering compelling, unique content that people beyond the agency walls would actually want to spend time consuming? Copacino Fujikado needed to find a way to outwardly demonstrate the agency's internal values of humility, empathy, and egalitarianism to outside clients, marketers, competitors, and potential applicants.

The agency created the "How I F*cked Up”  podcast series in which a CF Creative Director has a candid, open, freewheeling conversation with an outside marketing leader about mistakes made and lessons learned. The series has featured everything from international creative directors to clients to professional presentation coaches. A report from Libsyn, one of the largest podcast hosting services, suggests that if an episode gets more than 124 downloads in 30 days, it performs better than 50% of other shows. The third episode of the series surpassed that number, with listeners from 9 countries.

"How I F*cked Up" is colloquial, vulgar American phrasing that is slang for "How I made a big mistake."
