Packaging design and system for a new line of canned mushroom tonics.


Challenge: Create a packaging system for a new line of craft mushroom tonics, that will stands out in a crowded industry.


The new product was scheduled to launch at Treefort Music Festival in Boise. Since the can was packed with the best ingredients and integrity, the outside needed to match the goodness on the inside. After analyzing the on-shelf presentation of the competition, we created a retro-inspired design that changes colors and iconographic details with each new wildly weird flavor invention. The Treefort launch was a success with 5 five figure sales and lots of applause. After Treefort, the cans were distributed in regional grocery stores, retail stores, and e-commerce, with a fresh new Whole Foods contract signed in 2023.  


ERTH Beverage Co. is a value-driven craft beverage company. ERTH creates small batch, inventive, functional beverages, with ethically sourced ingredients and a commitment to providing a healthy and delicious beverage experience. These innovative beverages and flavor combos are brought to life by Eric, a biologist, chef, brewer, and fermentation enthusiast, and Sam, a master herbalist and holistic nutritionist. The packaging is a visual manifestation of the unique, wonderfully weird spirit of this rebel brand.
